Sr. Accounting Manager

Our client, an insurance company specializing in only in residential home insurance, is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sr. Accounting Manager with a strong background in GAAP and a proven track record in leading accounting projects from concept to completion. The ideal Sr. Accounting Manager will be a quick learner and a self-starter, capable of working in fast-paced environments. The Sr. Accounting Manager position will require the ability to leverage technology to improve outcomes and streamline accounting operations.


  • This role will be 100% onsite at the client’s corporate location in New Braunfels, TX.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes with high financial integrity, including consolidations, cost allocations, reporting, and analysis.
  • Implement scalable processes to gain efficiencies, simplify procedures, and lead teams driving projects.
  • Prepare complex financial statements and analyses while ensuring financial data integrity.
  • Develop and oversee a task tracking system to monitor team tasks and review processes.
  • Act as a liaison between different departments, ensuring smooth conversions to new financial systems.
  • Present financial analyses and reports to executive teams, providing insights into overhead management and profit margins.
  • Maintain and ensure the ongoing integrity of financial accounting systems, chart of accounts, cost centers, and reporting hierarchy.
  • Manage and develop high-performing teams, fostering cross-functional collaboration.

Experience / Qualifications (Must Have):

  • A minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, with at least 4 years in a managerial role within the insurance industry.
  • Strong experience in managing complex financial operations within the insurance industry.
  • Bachelor of Science in Accounting or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting software and systems, such as SAP, MRI, SmartSheet, Tableau, Alteryx, and ADP.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Proven experience in project management, financial analysis, and reporting for large departments or divisions.
  • Previous experience in a corporate accounting setting, with a deep understanding of GAAP principles.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office, Advanced Excel, and Google Office Suite.
